Vessel Pages FAQ

What is an IMO number?

The IMO number is a seven digit number that identifies a ship for its whole life, even when its name, flag or owner changes. Each vessel page on Service Finder is addressed by the vessel name and its IMO number.

Where do the vessel port calls come from?

From the loading and discharge dates that carriers report for containers tracked on ShipsGo. Recent port calls are dates that already happened; upcoming port calls are the carriers' estimates and can change. They are not a live vessel position.

How often are the vessel pages updated?

Every week. Port calls, routes and the shipping lines using each vessel are recalculated from the containers tracked on ShipsGo.

How can I track a container on a vessel?

Enter the container, booking or bill of lading number on ShipsGo. You can follow the vessel, every port event and the ETA, and get alerts when the container sails, arrives or is released.
