About CMA CGM
CMA CGM began as CMA, a shipping company Jacques Saadé founded in Marseille in 1978. It acquired the French line Compagnie Générale Maritime (CGM) in 1996, and the two companies merged in 1999. The group is still headquartered in Marseille and is controlled by the Saadé family.
CMA CGM sails in the Ocean Alliance with COSCO Shipping, OOCL and Evergreen, and also runs the APL, ANL and CNC brands within the same group.

How These Figures Are Calculated
Schedule reliability and route transit times come from CMA CGM containers that started being tracked on ShipsGo between 18 April 2026 and 18 October 2026 and have since been discharged. Transit time runs from loading at the origin port to discharge at the destination. Route figures average every routing CMA CGM uses on that port pair, so a single service in a Service Finder search can differ. A route or month is shown only when enough containers were tracked on it for a meaningful average, and volumes are shown as shares rather than counts.
